reflexion :

L’Occitane in Provence is brand of cosmetics founded in 1976. The brand has combined itself with the name of it’s origins and wanted to reveal their authenticity : Being based in Provence. The Digital Agency 909c, in charge of the budget, put forward the idea of a 360° film, showing off the most iconic visual element of the brand : The hot-air balloon.

Digital Immersion presents :

Flying in 360° over a lavender field in the morning during “Blue hour”


Action :

4 AM, 4 people, 1 hot-air balloon, 1 precise hour : Action !

The making of the film has been a true technical and artistic feat

Indeed, a hot-air balloon rises but does not steer as it is depending on wind direction. Moreover, it can only take off once.

The challenge was to respect the client’s expectations and to capture the beauty of the “Blue hour” (the splendid sunrise happens only for a few minutes) in one shot.

Ounce all conditions were united, we rigged the balloon with a 360° camera rig in order to film in-flight content, with the drone expertise of No Gravity and the expert eye of our Director, we also captured aerial shots of the balloon in flight.
